A Small Good Deed

Dr Ben told a story about a man who was asked to paint a boat. He brought with him paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red, as the owner asked him.

While painting, he noticed that there was a small hole in the hull, and quietly repaired it. When he finished painting, he received his money and left.

The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented him with a nice cheque, much higher than the payment for painting. The painter was surprised and said “You’ve already paid me for painting the boat Sir!”, “But this is not for the paint job. It’s for having repaired the hole in the boat.” “Ah! But it was such a small service… certainly it’s not worth paying me such a high amount for something so insignificant.”

“My dear friend, you do not understand. Let me tell you what happened. When I asked you to paint the boat, I forgot to mention about the hole. When the boat dried, my kids took the boat and went on a fishing trip. They did not know that there was a hole. I was not at home at that time. When I returned and noticed they had taken the boat, I was desperate because I remembered that the boat had a hole. Imagine my relief and joy when I saw them returning from fishing.

Then, I examined the boat and found that you had repaired the hole! You see, now, what you did? You saved the life of my children! I do not have enough money to pay your ‘small’ good deed.”

So, no matter who, when or how. Just continue to help, sustain, wipe tears, listen attentively and carefully repair all the ‘leaks’ you find, because you never know when one is in need of us or when God holds a pleasant surprise for us to be helpful and be important to someone.

You may have repaired numerous ‘boat holes’ along the way… of several people without realizing how many lives you’ve saved. Just like one random act of kindness

✨So Keep up the Good work …✨💐

One Random Act of Kindness

I did something nice today,  I had so much toys in my possession, toys I do absolutely nothing with, I just kick them about the room and destroy most of them, today I decided to put them together then i gave them to my house caretaker’s son, he’s about 3years old now, immediately i handed him the toys, he became so elated and started jumping all about the compound yelling “see my motor car” haha then this chill ran down my spin, lt felt so satisfying you’know, I felt content. These things were completely useless to me but look how excited it got this little guy, I became a bit upset with myself for destroying the numerous toys I had all the while back. i guess the Moral here is,we shouldn’t hesitate to give out things that mean little or nothing to us, instead of letting them lay around wasting away! there’s a whole lot of people who would give anything to have those things you barely value. And that’s the irony of life right? Your  junk box could be someone else’s treasure chest. Make someone happy today, but take it a step at a time, you don’t have to wait till you become a millionaire before you give, start now, nothing is too small. One simple act of kindness daily might not change the world but it will leave an everlasting impact on a soul. This is the season my friends, share gifts share food but above all share LOVE.

Merry Christmas to you and a very prosperous new year☺💕
